Blaine Harden is an award-winning journalist, author and public speaker, known for his work in shedding light on important global issues. He is the author of several books, including the New York Times bestseller Escape from Camp 14, which tells the story of the only person born in a North Korean labor camp to have escaped and survived. The book has been translated into 28 languages and has been praised for its gripping account of one man’s life in one of the world’s most secretive regimes.

A former correspondent for The Washington Post and a writer for The New York Times, Blaine has reported from various parts of the world, including Africa, Asia and Europe, covering everything from international conflicts and political crises to cultural and environmental issues. During his illustrious career, he has received numerous awards, including the Overseas Press Club Award for his coverage of Africa and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation grant in recognition of his outstanding work in journalism.
